The Doubletree Hotel Oakbrook is a smoke–free hotel, located
west of Chicago and is a convenient drive from both O’Hare and Midway
airports. Newly renovated, this hotel provides a great setting for
convention. Rooms have hi-speed internet & wireless service, plush pillow
top mattresses with “Sweet Dream” plush bedding, and the other usual
amenities. Refrigerators are available for $25 per day. There is an indoor
swimming pool, whirlpool, and fitness center. A Cash Station machine is
available and you can store your valuables in a safe located at the front
desk. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, but no pets are allowed. Check-in
is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 noon. Dining options in the hotel
are Anthony’s restaurant for dinner, the Atrium Café for breakfast and
lunch. Foxes Sports Bar & Grill is open for dinner. Located next to Oak
Brook Mall, you will find shopping and many restaurants within a short
walking distance.
For those driving or renting a car, there is free parking on
the premises of the hotel. There is one covered garage and two outdoor
lots. Valet Parking is $8.00. Avis car rental is at the hotel (630)
572-0405.
HOTEL SHUTTLE
The hotel provides a free shuttle to anywhere within a 5 mile
radius. Please contact the Concierge or front desk to schedule a time, a
reservation, or obtain a list of restaurants in the area.
This service is not available for airport transportation.
YOUNG ADULTS & CHILDREN
We welcome children and young adults to this convention.
Children under the age of 18 may stay in their parents’ room for free.
Please note: Rollaway beds are not available. As this is an adult
convention, minors will be asked to leave the Friday and Saturday night
dinners as soon as dancing begins. No one under the legal drinking age of
21 is permitted in any hospitality room while alcohol is being served. At
any time during the week if a minor is creating a distraction or interfering
with hotel or convention staff, the minor will be asked to leave the room.
Parents are responsible for the conduct of their children at all times and
are to see that the rules are followed.
WAIVERS
Each adult in attendance must sign a waiver form assuming
responsibility for his or her actions. A parent or guardian must sign a
waiver for any children or young adults attending under their supervision.
WORSHIP SERVICES
Catholic and Non-Denominational Services will be held at the hotel on
Saturday.

CONVENTION PACKAGE COSTS & EXTRA NIGHTS
Following are the costs for the weekend package which
includes housing on Friday and Saturday nights, dinner Friday and Saturday,
and breakfast Saturday and Sunday.
Single - $495.00 Children between the ages of
5-17 with parent - $175.00
Double - $395.00
Extra nights in the hotel will be available at the following
rates per room per night. Call the hotel to secure your extra night stays,
rates listed do not include applicable taxes.

Please remember that these are the dates deposits are
due in Chicago not the date they are due to your convention
coordinator. All payments are in U.S. funds.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The first $100 of your payment is non-refundable. All
pre-convention activities are non-refundable unless someone else takes your
place.
Any cancellation made by June 1, 2008 will be refunded at
100% of monies paid for the Convention Package except for the $100 deposit.
No refunds will be made for cancellations after June 2, 2008.
SCHOOL DAZE REMEMBERED
Friday Night – Prom Night
Our theme is “School Daze Remembered” and Friday night
is Prom night! Dress is formal, black tie optional. A tuxedo can be rented
by contacting MW TUX in Oakbrook (630-574-8440) or at
www.themenswearhouse.com. See menu choices on the registration
form.
Saturday Morning Breakfast - Homeroom
Following the buffet breakfast, we will hear from each
Booster/Fan Club president/representative. Members of the NHLBC 2009
Convention will then present their information. Remember to take good
notes! If a club had a raffle during the week this would be the time to
announce your winners. In keeping with our school theme, we are asking for
donations of school supplies. Please bring all school supplies this
meeting. All donated items will be distributed to children attending
Alessandro Volta Elementary School.
Saturday Night – School Dance
In continuing with our “School Daze Remembered” theme,
Saturday night is a School Dance! Bring your dancing shoes, and wear your
school colors or something with your school’s name. See menu choices on the
registration form.

Before the dancing begins, we will:
SURVIVOR NIGHT
Continuing with the tradition of Survivor Night…….
1. This
is an adult event. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed to
participate.
2. Survivor
night will begin at approximately 1 am. If you are going to survive you are
expected to stay in the designated areas from start time until breakfast.
3. A
Chicago convention committee designee reserves the right to disqualify
anyone not in noncompliance of these guidelines.
DIRECTIONS
FROM O’HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Exit airport to I-294 South (Indiana) to I–88 West to Cermak/Spring
Rd (22nd Street) exit. Go straight through the traffic light
(crossing 22nd street) onto Spring Road. The hotel will be on
the right, on the corner of Harger & Spring Roads.
Distance from hotel – 11 miles
Drive time – 20-25 minutes
FROM MIDWAY AIRPORT
Exit airport to Cicero Avenue North to I-55 South (St Louis)
to I-294 North (Wisconsin) to I–88 West to Cermak/Spring Rd (22nd
Street) exit. Go straight through the traffic light (crossing 22nd
street) onto Spring Road. The hotel will be on the right, on the corner of
Harger & Spring Roads.
Distance from hotel – 18 miles
Drive time – 30-35 minutes
NOTE: I-88 is under major construction.
When driving from the airports, make sure that
when you enter Westbound I-88 you go through the MANUAL/CASH tollbooths
on the right. Don’t try to use the I-PASS or
EASY-PASS lanes. Cermak/Spring Rd exit will be the 1st exit on

TRANSPORTATION
Rental Cars
O’Hare International Airport has just about every major
rental car companies. For your information there is an Avis Rental Car
(direct number 630-572-0405) at the hotel. This is great if you wish to
rent a car for just a few days.
Taxi
If you wish to use a taxi from the airport, the ride will
cost between $35-45. This is a per ride fare. So if you have 3 or 4 people
this is a good option.
TRANSPORTATION – Airport Shuttle
An Airport Shuttle service is available from Airport
Express Transportation; it is available from both airports.

Upon arrival
at O'Hare Airport:
Shuttles
depart from O'Hare Airport every 10-15 minutes for suburban hotels.
Loading
zones for boarding the Airport Express shuttle are at Door 1E – Terminal
One, Door 2D –
Terminal
2, Door 3E – Terminal 3 and Door 5D –Terminal 5 across from baggage claim on
the Baggage Claim level.
At the
International Terminal they are located just outside Door 1E which is
outside of Baggage Claim and Customs.
The last
Airport Express van leaves O'Hare at 11:30 pm seven nights a week.
Upon arrival
at Midway Airport:
Shuttle depart from Midway Airport every 15 minutes for service to suburban
hotels.
Our
airport express ticket counter and loading zone is located at Door 3, lower
level across from Baggage Claim.
Your return trip from the Doubletree will be scheduled
with the
information listed on your convention application form.
